The Family Therapy 1-2-3 Interactive Training Practicum is a unique, informative,
and fun way to learn the principles and practices of Family Therapy. This 3-disc
set merges the wisdom of 50 years of family therapy practice with 21st century technology.
The
training is divided into three parts:
Disc One: Concepts and Principles of Family Therapy
This disc explores why you should
do Family Therapy, how it differs from other approaches, and what are the fundamental
components of practice. You will investigate the presenting and underlying problems
families bring to therapy and acquire a wide range of effective and creative strategies
for dealing with these issues.
Disc Two: Client-Focused Family Therapy (CFFT)
On this disc, you will discover how
to adjust your therapeutic stance to match a family’s cooperation style. You will
learn to identify the four basic cooperation patterns, understand client hooks, and
adapt your position to maximize success with families. Numerous strategies will
be presented for each cooperation pattern.
Disc Three: How to DO Family Therapy
Theory is one thing; practice is another. On
this disc, you will learn how to conduct a family therapy session from referral to
termination. Written material, exercises, and a videotaped family session will guide
you through each stage of the process.
